So, on Saturday night, we had a really successful discussion! The topic at hand was online dating. Many great points were brought up about both online dating, and dating in general.

We talked about if doing things the online way speeds things along in an unnatural way, since by the time you actually meet the person the cat and mouse chase is already over.

Another great question that was brought up is "what is online dating really best for?" We talked about how it works well for those who are looking for something specific that would make it hard to find someone who would match this need AND be compatible in daily life (eg, a religion or fetish.) But it's good for anyone, especially those who know what they are looking for. We also discussed that certain sites are better for certain things. Nerve is better for hooking up, while Match is better for long term relationships.

There were about 10 people overall, and I would say that is pretty successful for our first discussion forum. Each person had a unique story to add to the mix, including one anecdote in which, a girl had broken up with her boyfriend, and 2 years later got matched with him on Match.com. That's not what urged them to get back together, but now they are married! So maybe there is some truth into these match percentages. Ha!

Anyways, our next discussion forum will be on discussing Fetish and Fantasy with your partner, and having open communication with them. This will be on March 13th, at Shag!
